Which field shows if a movie is in 3D?

Hi Tom,

I would like to know which field shows if a movie is in 3D, or if this needed information is captured?
If you don’t capture this information now do you have any plans too?

Thanks
Stephen

Re: Which field shows if a movie is in 3D?

Stephen:

If you are using the DVDR2.0 then the "Item Type" will indicate that it is a BD-3D title. See screen capture below.  As a convention, I also include the term "3D" in the title.

If you are using the DVDR Desktop, then the screen capture below highlights the indications of a BD-3D Title.  This is a capture from the Release 1.23.12.01.  In Release 1.23.13.04, the with of the "disc type" file is longer and the "DVD Blu-ray 3D" appears in the select list.

If an item contains both the 2D and 3D version of the movie, then my convention is to catalog it as a BD-3D title and to indicate using the Capability/Characteristic that is is a combo package.  There may also be a redundant version note to maintain backward compatibility with the Desktop service.  The Capability/Characteristic is only available on the DVDR2.0 service.
