Lots of update errors

I am attempting to update The Avengers Series 4 Blu-Ray set which I added via an Amazon search pointing to Amazon UK. I was able to add it this way but when I wanted to edit the item I ran into frequent update issues. I repeatedly get the error message 'The requested URL /protected/editeditflink.php was not found on this server'. Eventually I will be able to update my changes but sometimes only after getting the error message multiple times.

I am also running into a problem with adding episode information. Since the Avengers episodes for this series already exist in the catalog, I tried adding them. After adding each one I added a sequence number in the box in front of the episode since I want to preserve the series order. After each number sequence when I try to add the next episode I get the error message cited above and then it works on the second try. When I do the final update to get all the episodes added to the disc entry, it only accepts 25 of the 26 episodes and also changes some of my episode numbers. Attempting to go back and add the omitted episode results in another episode being deleted when I save the information via the UPDATE button on the disc entry.
On a couple of occasions when trying to save the update an error log was generated.

Could you look into what is happening here?

Re: Lots of update errors

Mike,

Your error description made reference to a web page "editeditflink.php ".  The correct page is "editflink.php".  I can't locate any code that would have created the bad file name. That would have been a smoking gun.  Is it possible that you made a typo in 'The requested URL /protected/editeditflink.php was not found on this server' and you meant to type 'The requested URL /protected/editflink.php was not found on this server' ?

I replicated the scenario you describe on the development server.  I added the same title from Amazon and then added 31 TV episodes in a couple of passes w/o error.  I did notice that the code allows for a program to be added that already had been linked.  This causes an error log but does not create a duplicate due to a table level constraint.  That may be the error log you noticed.

I did not have any problems adding more than 25 titles. I did not notice any issues assigning the sequence numbers. I did not notice any unanticipated sequence number changes.

You can search for "Avengers TV" and all of the episodes will be listed in the f-link edit screen.  You can then add all of the linked programs for the 4th season in a single update.

You will need to give me a scenario in your catalog that will produce a consistent failure. I need to be able to reproduce the issue.

Re: Lots of update errors

I cut and pasted that error message so that had to be the URL it mentioned. I will play around with this a bit more and see what results I get.

Re: Lots of update errors

I finally got everything to work by using Internet Explorer instead of Firefox. I still got error messages with IE but finally got everything working. There were logs generated in IE that should have been sent to you. These email logs don't seem to work in Firefox. Firefox is my principal browser but I may have to use IE to edit my 2.0 items. You might still look into why there are issues with Firefox.

Re: Lots of update errors

Mike,

I got two error logs via email.  I need to enable debug tracing to get more information about the error. I will need you to replicate the page failure on the development web server. If you are able to make the page fail consistently it would help if you could describe the scenario that triggers the failure step-by-step.

I will let you know when the debug is turned on.

Re: Lots of update errors

Mike,

I made two bug fixes to the feature link edit form on April 7, 2015:

I corrected the compatibly issue with Firefox that caused the email to fail when sending an error log.
I made a change so that the update does not fail if  the user inserts a feature that has already been linked.
