Tom,
I downloaded the program from your web site but cannot install because it asks for a serial number. Can you tell me if I am doing something wrong?
Thanks,

James,
The DVDR desktop installer application is packed in a ZIP archive. The zip archive is protected by a password. You can send yourself the current unzip password at this URL:
http://www.dvdregister.com/email_unzip.htm It will be emailed to your email address on record.
Each DVDR Desktop Release installer ZIP archive has a different password. Recent versions of Windows allow you to see the files in the ZIP archive the same as a conventional folder. However for the installer to work properly, you must actually unpack the archive into a conventional folder and then open the setup.vbs file. There are free ZIP utilities to do the extraction and some version of Windows will unpack a ZIP archive. In windows explorer right click the ZIP file and select extract.... Select the extract location to be in an empty folder you can find after the extract is completed.
A serial number is not required to install the DVDR Desktop application. However when you install on a new PC, the application will ask for a serial number and login name. You can still use the application without a serial number but some functions such as Live Update and Rapid Web access will be limited. If you install a new release on a PC that has an older DVDR release, the new release will not ask for the serial number. It will get the serial number form the older release.
